The room was clean and the building is pretty new. Our stay was 6 days. However, the front entry and upholstery on the lobby sofa and chairs are stained and need a deep clean. Windows are extremely dirty. The majority of staff don’t seem to care about their jobs, and we emailed the general manager and never got a response. I had to get towels, toilet paper, and a flat sheet that housekeeping forgot to put on the bed. I went myself to the front lobby counter even though I asked for these items to be put in our room. There were boxes of supplies stacked in the lobby for multiple days. The breakfast bar was minimal and not well maintained. Every day the tables and seating areas were left a mess and crumbs, stains, and cereal were everywhere. I looked for a health score, but there wasn’t any document posted. Milk cartons were expired and bagels were hard as a rock. One morning I was told that there were no more eggs even though it was only 8:20, and breakfast was offered until 9:00. Amy, one of the breakfast attendants would make a lot of noise slamming dishes and cups around like she was angry and annoyed. At this point, we just stopped eating breakfast at this hotel because it was so uncomfortable and unhealthy, and we could see that it wasn’t getting better any time soon. We won’t be staying at this hotel again, and it certainly doesn’t represent the Hilton brand well. Extremely disappointed because we spent close to $1500 for our stay.

We stayed one night at Homewood Suites by Hilton Wilmington Downtown for my wife’s graduation at the Chase Center, and the location was definitely a plus—it’s very close and made getting to the ceremony easy. The suite itself was spacious, especially the living area, and the kitchen was great, with a full-size refrigerator that worked well for our family. Unfortunately, several issues made the stay disappointing. Even though I booked the room for five people, there were not enough towels in the room. We were also not recognized as Hilton Honors members, and the digital key system was not working. The bathroom sink outlet did not work, which became a problem when multiple people needed to use a hair dryer and clothes steamer for graduation. Maintenance could not come until the next day, so the issue was never resolved. The shower head was old and stuck in one setting, which is not what I expect from a Hilton property. Parking was another frustration. Parking is paid, but the lot is far too small for the number of rooms. I was lucky to get handicap parking, but it was obvious that other guests had to figure something else out. If that spot hadn’t been available, I would have had to park in the plaza next door despite paying for on-site parking. There was also a security issue in the evening. A group of people were filming what looked like an amateur rap video in a luxury vehicle directly in front of the hotel entrance, blocking guest access. When I asked the front desk about it, the receptionist wasn’t even aware it was happening. Security eventually moved them away from the entrance, but only to the other side of the driveway. The situation still attracted a large group of kids and remained chaotic. Breakfast was okay but could be improved—more variety would help, and using real plates and silverware instead of flimsy plates and plastic utensils would better match the Hilton brand. Overall, the location and room layout were strong, but issues with maintenance, parking, security awareness, breakfast quality, and basic room readiness kept this from being a better experience—especially for such an important occasion.

I am disappointed with this hotel. The floor was sticky and dirty. We can see the dirty around the room. The rug on the room was dirty and torn, the bath rug was torn, the bath towels were stinking, the outside of dishwasher and fridge were dirty. Poor breakfast. I tried to talk to to the manager and he was rude. I definitely would no recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love these. Always clean and modern. Get a river side room, top floor if possible. Parking out front fills fast, over flow a block away.
