Riad Dar Zaman

We had the best experience here! A tour of the local markets with owner Peter, followed by a fantastic vegan cooking class with Karima and Hamza. Honestly the highlight of our visit to Marrakesh. Highly recommend.

The location is fantastic, and the staff is very friendly and service-oriented. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and fully catered to dietary requirements (in our case, celiac/gluten-free).

Restaurant/Dinner Review. We booked a table for a 3 course meal (all vegan & £24pp) which, when we arrived felt like we had booked a private dinner. It was my birthday and it felt like we had a private chef/server in the most gorgeous riad it was perfect! There is a sample menu on their website to give you an idea but as you have to give them at least 10 hours notice (so they can go to the market and buy the ingredients fresh) the menu is made up on the day and is a surprise! We had: -Morrocan Veg soup with breads for starter -Vegan vegatble tagine (one of the best we tried during our whole stay) -And the most delicious sweet poached pear for desert We also had a bottle of red wine to share as an add on of £13. Our server (I forget his name!!) was a lovely young man with great English & he was sooo lovely, he definitely went out his way to make it special for us. it was so romanic, peaceful & seriously worth every penny. After our dinner we were welcomed to stay and finish our wine on the rooftop terrace, it was magical. Thank you so much for making my birthday in Marrakech one to remember! Ellie

We had a lovely stay at Riad Dar Zaman. Peter and the entire team made us feel very much at home. After a day out in hectic Marrakesh it was nice to come back to the tranquil oasis that Dar Zaman is. We would definitely recommend Dar Zaman to anyone wanting to stay in Marrakesh. Karima's cooking class was great fun very much helped with translation by Hassane.

Everything about my stay at Dar Zaman was fantastic. The staff was incredible with tips, suggestions, ideas and even mapping out my adventure with me. Very professional and amazingly kind and wonderful. The place itself was just lovely. Clean, tidy, spacious and quite comfortable. The food was exceptional, I had dinner my first night and took the cooking class as well. I loved it. I would absolutely recommend Dar Zaman and stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riad Dar Zaman. Our room opened directly onto the lovely rooftop terrace, which was a real highlight. The room itself is on the smaller side, not an issue for us as we were travelling light, but it might feel a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage. The location is excellent: just outside the medina, yet only a few minutes walk from everything you could want to explore. What truly makes this place exceptional is the staff. Hassan made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived, and Hamza is an absolute gem: warm, attentive, and outstanding in terms of hospitality. Dinner was delicious, served in a very cosy setting, especially lovely in January with the fireplace lit. Breakfast was equally wonderful, with fresh, homemade products that really stood out. We also really appreciated the flexibility: we arrived early and were immediately given our room, and after check-out it was no problem at all to leave our luggage until the evening flight. We would absolutely recommend this riad and would happily return.

The staff is warm and helpful. Hassan and Mamza are very friendly, offer advice, and answer questions. They are always reliable with their arrangements. There is drinking water in the room, which makes things much easier. The breakfast is delicious, and the breakfast room is nicely decorated. There's a fireplace, and fresh flowers are everywhere. The room is small but adequate and very clean. They also ensured it was warm, which we appreciated at the end of December. Peter gave us tips even before our stay and responded very quickly.

Really lovely, characterful Riad in a quiet part of the medina - but an easy walk to all the action. The owner, Peter, is really friendly and helpful as are the team at the Riad. Cute little dining room for meals - we had a tasty dinner on arrival and enjoyed breakfasts too.

An intimate atmosphere. Staff are quite kind and attentive (just enough). Rooftop is exquisite with views of Atlas Mountains on a clear day. Five stars, no question.

We had a really pleasant stay at the Riad. Peter and his staff are attentive and helpful with tips. Also the communication with them before our arrival was fantastic and coordinating diets/airport transport. The rooftop was great to chill on, and breakfast was so nice. The Riad is close enough to the action but not as busy as being TOO close to the central souks, which was perfect for us. Overall, quiet & safe. Would stay here again!

Just returned after a 7 day stay at this fabulous Riad. All the staff made you feel special and because there is only 4 rooms, they are very attentive. We had great individual chats with them all as well as Peter the owner. Special mention to Hassan, Hamza and Adil. Nothing was too much effort for them and they were always on hand to offer local knowledge. The Riad has a great roof terrace to sit and relax. They organised airport transfers and we had a lovely meal on the first evening and wine and beer were available! Would definitely recommend to others.

My first Marrakesh experience and it was a big success, mainly because of the great hosts of this amazing riad. The riad is beautiful, quiet and has comfortable rooms. Breakfast is delicious. And the staff - Hamza, Adil, Hassan and Karima will do anything to help you and give some great advice and ideas. Highly recommended, and will definitely return.

An unforgettable experience... We received a warm welcome from Hassan at this intimate riad (only 4 rooms), which was exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated 🥰 Hassan gave us lots of helpful tips for navigating the medina, the sites to visit, etc. To top it all off, a delicious sweet and savory breakfast, homemade of course, that was truly exceptional (thank you Karima for the hummus, avocado, and tapenade) 😍🤩 Go without hesitation!!!
