Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Knysna

Knysna, one of South Africa's prettier Garden Route towns, turns into a week-long LGBTQ+ party every April or May. It's called the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras. The Knysna loerie bird is known for its bright colors, and the event takes its name from that. Lagoons, forests, and the Knysna Heads make for a dramatic setting. Many LGBTQ+ South Africans and visitors from abroad come for this. They tack on a trip along the Western Cape coast.
