Had an afternoon tea/high tea, a really lovely experience, lovely old hotel, read the evening menu and will definitely return as it sounds amazing

The accommodation is top of the range. The food however, is another matter. Wasn't great for the money 😕

The property is beautiful, and filled with great artworks from a local artist, which added to the cozy luxury of all the public rooms. We had two rooms for four of us, one with a valley view and one with a garden view. Both rooms were comfortable and spacious, but the valley view room had a far superior view compared to the view from our garden view one, as that one was half obstructed by a wall, which was mildly disappointing. If you have the option when getting a garden view room, ask for something other than room 9. Staff were lovely throughout our stay, and you should go for the house history tour if able, as it was interesting and entertaining. The included breakfast has good options, and was delicious. Overall, we had a great experience during our stay, so Mt Lofty House still gets a 5 star rating from me.
