What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the Old Willyama Motor Inn for its clean, comfortable rooms, excellent showers, and friendly, helpful staff. Some guests noted that the location on a main intersection can lead to noise from passing trucks, and one suggested a ground floor room might be preferable for easier access.

The Old Willyama is still a good budget friendly place to lay your head. We usually stay on the ground floor and the beds have been pretty good, this time around we had a second floor family room with a queen and two singles, all the beds were lumpy, like kids have used them as a trampoline. Staff should check the beds for condition and if next Tennant wrecks the bed take a $500 deposit off them. Some people have no respect. Willyama books out quickly so book early it's very popular.

I turned up quite a bit early, due to leaving Adelaide early to avoid the traffic. Reception locked, no one there, so I went and visited family for a bit, then returned. Still locked up. Read the sign, called the mobile number, eventually a staff member appeared in a car from somewhere nearby. Got my swipe card and found my room on the second level. Was able to park right by the stairs too. Initially the room looked clean, but small splashes of something on the cupboards , and soap residue left on the soap holder in the bathroom suggested attention to detail regarding cleaning wasn't a priority. I removed the bed spread immediately, and inspected the bed. Found one small black hair on the white sheets. Again, not convinced that the bedding has been cleaned properly either. Had a shower, in thongs, as is my usual practice, something between my bare feet and the possibly dirty floor. The hot water was extremely hot, scalding to be accurate. Possibly no safety devices installed to prevent burns. Shower appeared clean, apart from soap residue mentioned earlier. Water pressure was good, but spray nozzles weren't exactly fine. Again, probably need cleaning. The toilet was a bit uncomfortable too, the lid was a bit too far forward when raised. Giant TV, mostly worked, occasionally would stop due to poor Internet connection. Bed felt a bit unstable, maybe missing a leg or led was loose. Basic amenities, tea, instant coffee, sugar, small UHT milk the size of a Fruit Box in the small refrigerator, there was a kettle, cups, plates, cutlery. I ordered UberEats the first night, which was quick. Outside lights at night did enter the room around the curtain edges. I appreciate places like that can't be in total darkness for safety reasons, I just prefer total darkness to sleep. And the room was a bit too hot, so I felt overheated. I was exhausted from the drive up from Adelaide, plus the personal circumstances of why I was there, and did manage to fall asleep relatively early. But I did wake up too early, needing to use the toilet, and felt too hot. I prefer Room Service when travelling, this wasn't an option at this establishment. There was a Chinese Restaurant next door, and a menu in the room. I love Chinese food. Online reviews were a bit average. There is an attached Restaurant, which I didn't venture into, either for breakfast or dinner, due to early starts and late personal business. Overall it was okay, but not 4 stars. I would not stay there again, I would pay extra and get a better room elsewhere. I was only in town for a couple of days, this was tolerable, but I just felt the room wasn't very clean. No portable UV light to check the bed, I really don't want to know what I might have been sleeping on. The staff member I dealt with initially was friendly, English wasn't her first language, that doesn't bother me. She did ask if I needed extra towels or anything the second day. There were small signs that maintenance wasn't the best, such as the taps in the shower missing trim rings, and the silicone around the sink looked a bit amateurish. I could also hear other guests arriving and leaving, stomping up the stairs. All not major problems, but noticeable and slightly annoying.
