About this place Balconies Daylesford

Balconies Daylesford is a luxury bed-and-breakfast set on around three acres a short walk from Lake Daylesford, on Perrins Street. The property has a handful of individually styled ensuite rooms, a guest lounge with a bar, and an indoor heated pool, making it a quiet, self-contained base for a spa-country weekend. It is listed in the Spartacus gay travel guide as welcoming a gay and lesbian mixed crowd, and sits within easy reach of Daylesford's Vincent Street cafes, galleries and the town's wellness venues. It is a popular choice during the March ChillOut Festival, when Daylesford accommodation books out early.

A Misleading Name for a Dust Collector’s Paradise If you are looking for a hotel that truly honors its own name, The Balconies certainly delivers—provided your definition of a "balcony" is a dedicated, undisturbed sanctuary exclusively reserved for a thick, undisturbed layer of outdoor grime. My partner and I were genuinely thrilled to check into a room with such a prominent feature. Imagine our delight upon opening the door to the balcony and discovering that housekeeping had curated an authentic, prehistoric-level dust exhibit. Not a single square inch had seen a broom, a mop, or a human hand in what felt like decades. Naturally, the thought of sitting down to relax and enjoy the view crossed our minds—right before we realized that doing so would require a full hazmat suit and a pressure washer. It is truly inspiring when a hospitality business has the sheer audacity to brand itself entirely around its defining architectural feature, only to completely abandon it. To call this place "The Balconies" is less of a description and more of a cruel joke. I rarely feel compelled to leave reviews, but this establishment achieved the impossible by dragging me out of my comfort zone. Do yourself an immense favor: save your money, skip the dust allergy, and stay literally anywhere else. Avoid at all costs.

Beautiful apartment and great location with a gorgeous view over the lake. Pity we are only staying here for a couple of nights…Nice guys too! A perfect place to get away from Melbourne for a bit of fresh air! Highly recommended.
