About this place Daylesford Hotel

The Daylesford Hotel is a classic country pub with accommodation, facing Burke Square in the centre of Daylesford. It is a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue, but Daylesford is one of regional Australia's best-known gay-friendly towns, and every March it hosts the ChillOut Festival. It makes a handy base for the spa towns of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs and for the cafés along Vincent Street. Book well ahead for festival weekends and summer Saturdays, when rooms across town sell out. Check the hotel's website for current room types and meal times.

Table unstable and water drink spilt .i asked to stable the table and handed a bunch of paper napins on a plate.i offered to help stable the table to be told no we use these and she tried to stable but than said hat wil do until we can look at it later,, all staff serious and ignore custkmers and no friendly welcome or smile when talking to me and kids. Repeatedly asked about how I was ordering via QR code. Pizza arrived burnt charcoal clumps.inedible , asked if finished and made no eye contact or asked why 3/4 of pizza left on the plate. I visited 13 months ago and I won't come back or recommend.Poor service, and food less than expectation.

My partner and I had visited for a drink after having dinner elsewhere and it was very busy so we just stood and chatted. The staff were really friendly and I noticed that they do pizzas (with vegan options) so I'd love to dine there for dinner next time. We were told there was a live pianist playing at Bar Bamford which was attached to the hotel so we headed there. We scored a seat right at the front. The bar has such a nice vibe! We ended up chatting with the pianist (Valiant Von Thule) and we loved his performance! I hope we can catch another show soon.

Pro's: beautiful pub Con's: eggplant parmy!? Yeah right. They used picked eggplant from a jar and all I could taste was vinegar. Really disappointed. It was a freezing day and they couldn't get the fires going. Be prepared people and get the fires on and burning before people arrive! We expected a cozy pub meal by the fire and instead I got a pickled eggplant and smoke in my hair. Don't bother. Too many other pubs on the street to try!

Hudson was the actual best, as was the lovely man on the door/managing! Other staff were completely lovely, food 100/10 (and quickest service of all time) — look forward to coming here every time! ⭐️😋💝
