Dear Hotel Management, I would like to express my disappointment regarding our recent stay at your hotel. My wife was part of the Epworth Freemasons hotel package, which allowed us to stay at the hotel on Day 4 after giving birth. Because of this arrangement, I also booked an additional room for my parents and our 4-year-old son. On 25 May, there was a city-wide electricity blackout around 5:00 PM. I understand that this situation was outside of the hotel’s control. However, I was very surprised that the hotel did not appear to have a backup generator or adequate contingency plan in place. There was no electricity or lighting until approximately 4:00 AM the next morning. This created significant stress for our family, particularly because my wife required electricity for her pump after recently giving birth. In addition: -There was no room service available for dinner. -The lifts were not operating. -We had to wait several hours before we could obtain food. -Attempts to contact reception were unsuccessful because we were informed that the phone system was also down. The following day, I spoke with staff to ask whether hotel management would consider any goodwill gesture or complimentary compensation, given that we were unable to utilise most hotel facilities and services. We checked in at 3:00 PM, and the power outage started only two hours later. We considered returning home at night, but we were advised against doing so as our car could potentially become stuck in the car park due to the outage. Despite raising our concerns, I was informed that management had not yet decided on any response. Unfortunately, until now, I have not received any follow-up communication from the hotel. Overall, the experience was extremely stressful, especially given the circumstances surrounding my wife’s recovery after childbirth. While I understand the blackout itself was beyond the hotel’s control, I did not expect a hotel of this standard to operate without backup power, and I was disappointed with how the situation was managed, particularly regarding communication, food availability, and lift access. I would appreciate a response from management regarding this matter.

The Park Hyatt is a very old-money style hotel with a rich and delicious buffet breakfast, especially the pancakes! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the location is excellent, quiet yet convenient, and the service is attentive, making it a great choice for a Melbourne vacation.

Housekeeping has a bit to be desired. TV is like a cheap car that has roll down windows. No way to pause, reverse or fast forward. No closed caption Was surprised. I did not go to watch TV, but.. .

The facility and ambience are top notch. Perfect for large conferences, welcoming feel by the time you walk-in the foyer. The vibe is real and authentic about this world class venue here in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

I was travelling with my sister and brothers in law, we had an Amazing experience. In the last day Miss Trang helped us to pick up the car from the garage since it was too early and the Valet wasn't available. She gave us fully attention from the first second. Everyone was nice I just don't remember everyone's name.. Thank you all

I understand the guy in the loading dock is tired of explaining the same thing. At the end of the day. How is anyone meant to know all your process to find a park. Sorry your sign makes no sense.

Very good hotel in Melbourne. Better labeling at the buffet would be desirable (especially for vegan options). Service was excellent.

I attended a conference on the 5th of April, I needed a private place to pray for 5 mins. The concierge office staff where very courteous to assist. Well done Hyatt melbourne.

The Park Hyatt Melbourne is such a great spot to just sit and enjoy a coffee. The ambience in the lounge area is incredibly relaxing. You can smell the amazing coffee right away, and their lattes are absolutely top-tier—so, so good! Highly recommend it if you want a nice place to chill.
