Hotel Ginnan

I recently stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. One of the biggest advantages is its excellent location — it’s just a short 2-minute walk to Tsukiji Station, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city. The famous Tsukiji fish market is also within walking distance, which was a huge plus for exploring and enjoying local food. There are several convenience stores just around the corner, so grabbing snacks, drinks, or any daily necessities was quick and easy at any time of the day. The hotel itself is very well maintained, especially in terms of hygiene. The rooms and common areas were consistently clean and tidy throughout my stay, which made it very comfortable. What truly made the experience special was the hospitality. The hotel is run by a friendly elderly Japanese couple who were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Their kindness and personal touch really made the stay feel more homely and memorable. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, clean, and cozy place to stay with genuine hospitality.

Very close to many shopping and eating places. Convenient location next to train station. The place is owned by an old couple that were very kind and helpful. They made our stay in tokyo so much better, making us feel very welcomed. We had a queen size bedroom and it was spacious and clean. I have no negatives about this hotel however the room we had was on the third floor and the staircase is quite narrow. They have a chair lift to get to the second floor.

Pros: - Easy access from the airport via Narita Sky Access; convenient to drag luggage to the hotel in 6-7 minutes. - Great location; easy walking distance to Ginza and Tsukiji Market. - Close to several metro stations. - The room is not too small, doesn't feel cramped, and is decorated in a Japanese style. - The room is very clean. - There's a large refrigerator and microwave, and I saw a washing machine outside the room. - The air conditioning is adjustable. - The owner, an elderly lady, does everything herself. She works very hard, is attentive to guests, and tries to chat with guests. She manages a small restaurant on the first floor and runs the hotel, cleaning the rooms herself (which makes check-in slower than other hotels). Every time I return, I see her working. - There are two beds pushed together but sharing a blanket. - The amazing thing is that the TV is a projector screen connected to a laptop (but I didn't try it). - There's enough space to open a suitcase. Cons: - The room has no curtains, so light comes through the window all night. - It's located in a restaurant area. - There was noise from people talking until 11 PM. - The room was not soundproof at all. - There was no elevator (they brought our luggage to the room). - The tap water at the sink didn't have temperature control; it was very cold. - The amenities weren't as complete as standard Japanese hotels, but understandable as it's a small, self-managed hotel. - The shower area should have more storage space outside the bathroom, or at least a place to hang towels nearby. Overall, I was impressed with the owner, and the price was reasonable compared to the area. However, it might be more suitable for a short stay when considering the pros and cons.

+Pretty good location +The couple managing the hotel are nice and helpful (they speak broken English, but that's quite normal). +It's clean and quiet. -Check-in is very late, at 5 p.m., and check-out is at 10 a.m., which was a bit of a hassle. The rooms are small, and I don't understand why it takes seven hours to clean them. Early check-in cost 8,000 yen. -There are two beds pushed together, but there's a space in the middle. Because there's only one duvet, one person has to sleep closer to the middle, uncomfortable in a hole. -The room wasn't heated upon check-in (February).

Very very nice room with very nice owner! Rooms are prepared with love and heart, every detail is considered! And also the most spacious room I had ever stayed in Tokyo. Owner perfect friendly grandpa

The room was brand new and impeccably clean, equipped with every comfort and featuring a beautiful tatami area. The location is perfect — just a short walk from Tsukiji and Ginza stations. The welcome was warm and flawless, even with the language barrier. Highly recommended to anyone — and I say this as someone with very high standards.
