About this place Aubergine Restaurant

Aubergine, on Dinso Road in Bangkok, is a French restaurant that happens to be gay-friendly. That’s a good thing, because the city’s broader dining scene needs more places that feel this distinctly European.

The place has the intimate feel of a Parisian bistro. And while Bangkok’s gay restaurant scene has plenty of options, this one is for the meaningful meals, the celebrations. Think first dates, anniversaries, or just a Tuesday when you want to feel a little special.

Expect an understated elegance. This isn't a place for loud music or flashy décor; it’s designed for conversation, for connecting. That makes it good for couples or small groups. It’s central, easy to get to, and a reminder that some of the best gay venues let you simply enjoy good food in a supportive setting, without making a big fuss about it.

It was a terrible restaurant. The service, food, and environment were all very bad. I went there on Valentine’s Day and had pre-ordered the menu through LINE, but when I arrived, I was told that what I reserved was no longer available. The place was extremely crowded. Although they charged a 10% service fee, there was no service at all. Even getting water required reminding them after finishing my glass. There was a short, chubby male waiter who provided terrible service, along with four very clueless female waitresses. It was an awful experience. I hope no one else has to go through this. 👎

Ribeye steak is overrated.

Established French restaurant. The cuisine presented was tasty. Comparable to other French restaurants in the area. Good parking available.

This French-style restaurant has delicious food and good service. I visited again and the restaurant has been renovated, making it brighter. The food is prepared by Chef Khiao and two other chefs, and everything tastes even better than before. I understand they've changed the ingredients and cooking techniques.
