Tirana Pride is Albania's flagship LGBTQ+ event and one of the fastest-growing Pride celebrations in the Western Balkans. Organized by Aleanca LGBT and held annually each May, it has grown from a small, heavily protected gathering in the early 2010s to an event that draws around 2,000 participants from across Albania and abroad. The 2026 edition will follow the established format of a march through Tirana's city center followed by a cultural program featuring music, speakers, and community performances. Tirana Pride takes place during the same month as Albania's EU accession milestones are typically reviewed, giving it added political resonance as a signal of civil society health. For LGBTQ+ visitors to Tirana, attending Pride is both a memorable experience and a meaningful act of solidarity with Albania's growing queer community.
