About this place Governor's Beach (White Rocks)

Governor's Beach, known locally as Aspra Vrachia (White Rocks), is a row of small coves under pale limestone cliffs with dark sand. It is about 30 minutes' drive east of Limassol, towards Larnaca. The main coves have beach clubs and tavernas. The quieter coves further along are the island's best-known informal gay and naturist meeting point, used mostly on summer days. You need a car, as public transport is poor. Bring water and shade. Homosexuality has been legal in Cyprus since 1998, but public nudity is not formally allowed, so stay in the secluded coves, keep things discreet and respect families on the main beach.

Stunning views of beautiful seas from these cliffs (do not confuse with the White Stones across the bay which are smooth and not tall)

Beautiful spot for sunset, camping and a quiet escape by the sea. 🌅⛺ This place is not only great for watching the sunset you can also stay overnight with a tent, which makes it even more special. The coastline is beautiful, peaceful and feels quite wild, especially in the evening. It’s a lovely place to come for a walk, enjoy the sea, watch the sunset or spend the night under the stars if you enjoy camping. I really liked the atmosphere here — simple, calm and away from busy tourist areas. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy nature, sunsets and more relaxed, less touristy places.
