Update September 22, 2021: Still a pleasant place to relax outside on the promenade, enjoying a Duckstein beer and delicious food. ______________________________________________________________________ September 5, 2017: Even under the new management, they still offer a Duckstein beer: the particularly delicious Duckstein Opal. Highly recommended.

There was no COVID-19 safety plan in place; inside, neither a negative test nor proof of vaccination was required. The tables were too close together, the wait between drinks and food was far too long, and the staff were mostly engaged in private conversations or on their phones, while dishes sat around or we waited for another drink. This is not the Montevideo it once was.

Delicious food in one of the city's most beautiful locations. Also recommended for coffee and cake. Prices are a bit high, but reasonable and absolutely justified.
