Baustelle 4U
Visitors frequently praise the friendly atmosphere, good music, and great bar team, with some highlighting specific staff members like André and Carsten. However, a significant and recurring complaint is the bar's policy of not allowing women, which some reviewers find discriminatory and unwelcoming.

This Cologne Old Town gay bar is where locals and tourists go to unwind.
It’s a place with real personality. Think custom-built furniture, creative interiors, and an elaborate lighting setup that shifts with the music. The whole thing feels put-together but not fussy, the kind of spot that makes you want to settle in.
During the week, it’s low-key. You’ll see regulars chatting, enjoying a drink, just hanging out. But come Friday, the place flips a switch. Suddenly it's a full-on party: dancing, singing, all the energy you’d expect from a weekend crowd. Werner and his crew run the place, and they’re good at making everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quiet Tuesday or a raucous Saturday.
If you're looking for a slice of Cologne's queer nightlife, this is it. Good tunes, friendly faces, and a comfortable buzz that makes for a good night out.

Very friendly. Close to the action. Great place to grab a drink and relax. Try the lemon cello spritz!
Unfortunately, I had to delete my previous positive review. After many years as a guest, an incident occurred today that we found unacceptable. What started as a pleasant evening ended when another, extremely wok-obsessed guest deliberately smashed a wine glass against the bar. This resulted in broken glass, a damaged cell phone, and wine spilled on clothing. However, what was particularly disappointing for us was how the situation was handled. Instead of a proper explanation or apology, we felt that the focus was more on wok self-promotion than on resolving the incident objectively. The scene is increasingly dominated by self-promoters. We enjoyed being guests here for many years, but we will no longer be visiting Baustelle4you. It's a shame, because until now we had mostly positive experiences.
You like bears, leather, older gentlemen or just regular friendly guys? Go here. They treated us like gold! Danke. :) We were here for quite awhile which is reflected in the amount we spent per person.
A friend and I went in, and it turns out they don't allow women... It's so sad that discrimination exists in bars like this. It doesn't make sense.
Good music, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. And yes, it's a bar where women aren't allowed.
We hadn't been to the construction site for years, but since André started welcoming us there with empathy and charm, it's fun again. Carsten and Marc also deserve a mention. We always enjoy coming back. Hugs from Vallendar
