Blue Lounge, on Mathiasstraße in Cologne’s city center, is a gay bar and club where you can still have a conversation.
It’s one of the longer-running spots for queer socializing in Cologne, and it pulls in a mixed crowd of gay and lesbian visitors. You can kick back with a cocktail or hit the dance floor; it doesn't try to force you into one or the other.
The door policy is easy: free admission, but you need to spend at least €5. That's it. It keeps things casual, so you don't feel like you're committing to a big night out, and it's why you'll find locals and visitors mixing pretty easily here.

We paid €10,000 for an after-show party, but there were only two incredibly slow servers. The party was supposed to last until at least 6 a.m. After just one hour, the alcohol ran out and we had to leave. A complete rip-off!
We got this venue as a replacement for our party at Degree. It was completely unequipped for our party. The bar had far too few drinks despite the advertised all-inclusive package (we went to the kiosk next door for drinks; I can recommend the kiosk, but we were kicked out at 2 a.m.). It might be okay with fewer people, but definitely not with 125+ people.
