Café Gnosa
Visitors praise Café Gnosa for its historic charm, good basic German food, and generous cake portions. However, a recurring complaint is unfriendly and unwelcoming service, with some also noting small portions for the price and a decline in customer service over time.

No one smiles. The host seemed grumpy. I think he and the guy who was tasked with cleaning up had a bad morning.
We were treated very badly by the staff, especially one young waiter who was absolutely arrogant and haughty. He should be fired, as he's driving customers away.
Great pub, I've been coming here for years and love it. I got a table for breakfast without a reservation – but it was Thursday morning. Good selection of food and drinks, good value for money. Thanks and see you soon!
I always feel very comfortable here; it's an absolute safe space. The lady who looked after us was incredibly attentive, friendly, and warm. I'm also fascinated by the history of the café! Thank you for every visit.
Really delicious and beautiful cakes. Lovely decor, and the cakes are top-notch in terms of quality and taste! The service could be a bit friendlier. In the summer, you can also sit outside, which is a big plus.
I was treated inhumanely, arrogantly, and condescendingly when I sat down. I left immediately, never again!
A Hamburg Original Café Gnosa has been around for over 100 years and hasn't lost any of its charm. As a former regular since my teenage years, I wasn't disappointed. The coffee is good, and the cakes from their own bakery are very impressive. If you're looking for a reliable, characterful café in St. Georg, this is the place to be.
