What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the hotel's wonderful location on the Alster and its charming, clean rooms. However, a common complaint is that the rooms can be very noisy, and some guests found the hotel overpriced for the amenities offered, with issues like poor air conditioning and dated hairdryers.

We spent six days in this truly beautiful and impressive hotel in a superb location on the Outer Alster Lake, yet close to the city center. Public transport is a maximum of five minutes away, and you can also easily walk into town. The architecture is beautiful, and the room was fantastic and clean with comfortable beds and a choice of pillows. It's also a great place to stop for a short rest in the afternoon. The service was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent; everything you need to start the day was available or replenished as needed.

Pros: - Location on Schwanenwik directly on the Outer Alster Lake - Large rooms, approx. 40 sq m 😳 - Lots of stucco on the ceilings - High ceilings, almost 4 m Cons: - Underground parking spaces almost always full - Parking on side streets costs €3.50/hour until 8 pm - Breakfast is good, but the buffet is spread over two floors, cramped, and only available downstairs. The coffee machine upstairs is often broken. Many spiral staircases. Then you have to navigate them with plates of food and oncoming traffic. - No luggage rack except upon request - No slippers except upon request - Bathroom floor tiles with missing grout - Extremely smooth, glossy tiles are risky with wet feet 🫢 - Cleanliness is only good up to a height of 1.60 m; above that, there are cobwebs, dust, etc. - Friendliness ranges from 2 to 5 on a scale of 1 to 5, depending on who you talk to. Staff don't seem motivated or well-trained. ``` Conclusion: A "boutique" hotel is not a license to ignore international hotel standards, especially at a price of over €200. Based on how things went this past May, it's definitely not recommended; there are significantly better options in Hamburg for the money.

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay in your beautiful house and your excellent service! We felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the junior suite with its conservatory, the spacious bathroom, the varied breakfast with many organic products, and the proximity to the Alster lake and restaurants on Pappenhuder Straße.

The staff was very, very unfriendly. The hotel location was good. Breakfast was small but decent. Next time I'm in Hamburg, I'll look for a different hotel.

The house is very cozy and elegantly furnished. Location, amenities, and service are excellent. Only the booking system could be improved.
