The hotel is very average... it doesn't have an elevator, so if you have luggage it's a nightmare. It also doesn't have air conditioning. The cleanliness isn't bad, but it could be better. The reception is fine, and the location is super close to the central station. The downside is that there are a lot of dependent people, but they aren't bothersome; it's just unnerving to see their condition.

A place with an interesting history. Definitely worth a visit. There was nothing to complain about.

Positive: Location close to Hamburg's main train station. However, I wouldn't recommend this area; it's unsafe at night and full of people with addictions. The bed is incredibly comfortable. Negative: Unsafe and deportable area, expensive for what it offers and the location, an older gentleman who works there disrespectfully made a gesture towards my husband (he told him we were Colombian, and then touched his nose as a symbol of drug use). The hotel is ugly and looks dirty. I wouldn't return and I don't recommend it.

I'd say it was a mixed experience. First off, the service is great, the staff are friendly and eager to fulfill every wish, and always ready to offer recommendations, no matter what you're in the mood for. The public transport connections are perfect. The neighborhood is questionable. You can definitely observe everything that human society has to offer. There's always a lot of noise. The room itself—well—is old. Cleanliness is okay. It could be improved with a few small things (replacing curtain hooks, ensuring lampshades are straight, renewing the silicone sealant in the shower, repainting the mirror, etc.). It certainly has charm. Because of the location, it wouldn't be my choice for families. But for an adventure in the big city, and if you're not afraid of shady characters on the street—yes. ;-)
