Aasee (Cruising Area)

The Aasee, Münster's large lake just southwest of the old town, has long been the city's best-known outdoor gay meeting area. The wooded fringes and paths along the northern shore (around the Annette-Allee side) are the traditional spot, busiest on warm evenings and at dusk in spring and summer. It is a public park used by families and joggers by day, so discretion and respect for other visitors are essential, and activity is informal and tolerated rather than official. Germany is safe and LGBTQ-legal, but as anywhere, meet with care, keep valuables on you, avoid isolated corners after dark and be mindful that it is a shared public space.
