About this place La Brasserie

La Brasserie is a relaxed café-bar on Korai Square in the heart of Heraklion and the city's one reliably LGBTQ+-friendly venue. By day it works as an all-day café; in the evening it draws a mixed, cosmopolitan crowd and periodically hosts gay and lesbian parties, which is why gay guides regularly single it out as the go-to meeting point for LGBTQ+ locals and visitors in a city that has no dedicated gay bar of its own. It sits on the pedestrianised Korai/Daidalou strip, Heraklion's main café and nightlife lane, so it is an easy first stop before exploring the rest of the centre. Expect cocktails, coffee and a friendly, low-key atmosphere rather than a full-on club night.

A very cute and cozy bar with an exceptionally cool atmosphere. The owner gave us an incredibly warm and friendly welcome, making us feel right at home. We didn't eat anything ourselves, but the dishes we saw other guests enjoying looked delicious. Latin music played in the evening, creating a fantastic vibe. We had a truly wonderful evening and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
