Last year (September 2025), we were so satisfied with our stay at Urban Donkey Hotel, which nicely complemented our overall experience of Thessaloniki, that we decided to come back and stay there again at the beginning of May 2026. This hotel is super nice, with an interesting industrial and unconventional design, very well positioned in relation to the city centre, restaurants, and points of interest (the Holy Church of the Holy Apostles, one of the oldest churches in Thessaloniki, is just a few steps away from the hotel), and run by a pleasant, helpful, unobtrusive, and welcoming staff that makes your stay in Thessaloniki truly relaxing. The room was clean and equipped as advertised, and everything in the room and throughout the hotel was functioning properly. At the reception area, bottled water, coffee, and tea were available free of charge throughout the day. Also, there are several nice small places to eat around the hotel (such as the bakery Μπουγάτσα Σαρρή and cafés like Φοινιξ), as well as a supermarket nearby. From the hotel, it takes 10–15 minutes on foot to Aristotelous Square and the seafront promenade. There is also a metro station nearby (with a good connection to the airport via bus 02X), while a bus stop (line 26) is conveniently located right in front of the hotel. We hope to stay there again in the future!
A very clean and inexpensive hotel in the city center. Everything is within walking distance.
The view from the terrace is really nice and the acoustic isolation is good, but what makes this hotel special is the cleaning, 5 star cleaning team. Our room was spotless. The location is ok, it requires a bit of walking to the city center but not much
