About this place Browns Downtown Hotel

Browns Downtown Hotel puts you in the dead center of Lisbon's old city, a good spot for queer travelers wanting to explore Portugal.

You can walk to Bairro Alto and Baixa Chiado in about 15 minutes. That means restaurants, cafes, shops, and galleries are all right there.

Lisbon's gotten pretty good for LGBTQ+ visitors. The social scene is alive, and there’s plenty to do culturally. Being downtown keeps you close to the major sights and the nightlife.

The neighborhood itself feels like Lisbon — historic, busy. It's not some quiet corner. If you're here for fun, culture, or the local scene, a central hotel just saves you time. You'll be right where you need to be to get out and see Lisbon.

Great hotel, location, staff, clean, comfortable beds, lots of extras, everything you want! Our first time to Portugal and stayed here our first 5 nights in Portugal and then 1 night at the end of your trip. Staff- everyone was so friendly. Bruno at the front desk was genuinely friendly, great suggestions, and the type of employee you want representing your hotel. He has a long career in hotel management if he wants it. I hope the owner and management recognize him! Rooms- very clean, comfortable beds, good shower pressure, everything you need. Extras- comes with bottled water (was much as you need) and wine upon check in. Would definitely recommend a superior room (room 506) if staying a few days- a bit larger, with small table and chairs, 2 large door/windows. We stayed in a standard room (room 504) the last night (1nt) and it was fine, small if staying multiple days with more luggage. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Bruno :)
