Dear God I cannot figure out how this place got so many good ratings. It's awful. First of all there is only covid-style no contact sign in. You never actually see an employee. Second, there is no breakfast and hasn't been for years. There is no room cleaning. No clean towels, no bed made during the day. The room we had was one with a bay window. It was disgusting. The furniture was wobbly and dirty. The duvet was worn to the point of being ragged. I stepped on something and it was an old used band-aid laying on the floor. There was only one window that would open. They were all covered in dirt and cobwebs. In the morning the condensation ran down the windows like rain. That's how I noticed the base boards were filthy. The vinyl floor in the bathroom was warped because water leaked out of the moldy shower. The floor underneath must be rotted because it felt like it was about to give way. The towel warmer only worked at random times so it was hard to get the towels dry. That despite the fact the towels are really thin. The light in the bathroom was on a motion sensor. But it actually stayed on all time except for going off for a few seconds every 15 minutes. It did this all day and all night. The pillows were thin and clearly used to death. The carpet in the halls and on the stairs was dirty, very dirty. Did I mention the disgusting moldy shower? How hard is it to use some bleach? Every surface is stained. The couch in the room was dirty and ripped. There was a tiny microwave and refrigerator as well as an electric teapot. No hair dryer. No extra blankets or pillows. This is as far from a "luxury" hotel as one can get. It's a flop house. I would have gotten a nicer place but I was pretty sure we would never get our money back. There isn't even any Victorian charm. Avoid it.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The property is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and offers a really relaxing atmosphere. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. The host was exceptional—very kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Their hospitality really made a difference. We would highly recommend this place and would love to return in the future.

I stayed here for 4 nights and honestly felt at home from the moment I arrived. The space is beautiful, clean, and so thoughtfully set up, with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The surroundings are absolutely stunning—peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect place to unwind. What really made the experience stand out was the host, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in their place. I’m so grateful for such a lovely stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. I would definitely come back again.

Spacious, clean room. Responsive admin once booking confirmed. Mini fridge, kettle, microwave and some quick oatmeal/porridge available to make in your room.

Stayed here with my partner, to keep it short: amazing place, well worth the money, book it! First off I’d like to say a MASSVE thank you to Andrew the receptionist, very kind person, great on the phone super helpful and followed up with phone calls to make sure we got into the room safely. From start to finish he was 100% spot on and is always there to help! Now for abit more detail: easy to find, satnav took me right there. Big carpark so no stress parking. Room was very clean and comfortable, plenty of space for suitcases, yoga, or mobility scooters. Had a great sleep after a 12 hour drive, very nice bed/ duvet/ pillows. Great place to stay if you have a dog. Even if you have a wheel chair / scooter the place has ramped access/ a wet room disabled parking and plenty of space inside. Honestly stop reading this review and just book the room! We would happily come back!

Though it says country house the property only offers rooms with en suite . There is no restraunt or bar here. Its dog friendly and plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious very clean and pleasant with en suite tea coffee kettle and fridge..Wine Glasses are available and tubs of porridge for breakfast . Instant type if you want to help yourself

Needed accommodation at short notice due to being let down by the accommodation we had booked. Andrew was very helpful and provided us with a lovely, clean, room equipped with cooking facilities. Very grateful for the service provided.
