Kleine Schanze

Kleine Schanze is a landscaped public park just west of the Bundesplatz and Federal Palace, a few minutes from the main station. By day it is an ordinary city green space; after dusk it has long been Bern's best-known outdoor gay cruising area, with activity picking up once the daytime crowds thin out. As with any outdoor cruising spot it is informal and unofficial: be discreet, respect other park users and mind your safety and belongings after dark. Switzerland is among Europe's safest countries for LGBTIQ people, but the usual common-sense precautions apply.
