Bern Pride
About This Event
BernPride is the Swiss capital's Pride. A demonstration winds through the Old Town and ends at a free festival on the Bundesplatz, in front of the Federal Palace. The current format started in 2023 out of the EuroGames, which Bern hosted that summer, and it has been held every year since. It's run by the BernPride association, an unpaid volunteer group with a core team of about two dozen people and around 180 helpers on the day.
The 2026 edition was on Saturday 25 July under the motto «Stark. Und zusammen noch stärker!» (Strong, and stronger together). The march left Waisenhausplatz at 1:30pm and the Bundesplatz festival opened at 3:30pm. Organisers counted about 10,000 people. The march and festival are free; the association asks for donations and memberships.
The date moves from year to year, and the 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked. A separate, anti-capitalist CSD Bern marches in May. Bern is about an hour from Zürich by train, so it works as a day trip.
