About this place Cranberry

Located on Metzgergasse in Zürich's historic Altstadt, Cranberry is a welcoming destination in one of Switzerland's most vibrant cities. The Old Town area is known for its narrow medieval streets, independent shops, and a mix of bars and venues that cater to diverse crowds. As an LGBTQ+-friendly establishment, it fits naturally into Zürich's broader gay scene, which has grown considerably over the years. Zürich's gay scene is known for being inclusive and relaxed, with venues scattered across the city center. The Altstadt location puts this spot within easy reach of other attractions, restaurants, and bars, making it convenient for both locals and visitors exploring the neighborhood. Swiss venues tend to maintain high standards of service and a welcoming atmosphere, and Zürich in particular is known as a progressive, accepting city where LGBTQ+ travelers can feel at home. Whether you're looking to meet locals, enjoy an evening out, or get recommendations for other spots in the city, this venue offers a central location and a community-oriented atmosphere. We recommend checking ahead for current hours and any special events. Getting around Zürich is easy thanks to excellent public transport, and the Old Town's compact layout makes it perfect for exploring on foot.

On a sunny day, Cranberry Bar sidewalk seating fills up early. Don’t be surprised if someone wishes to share a table. I have met and had interesting conversations often. The staff is friendly, approach you immediately upon taking a seat and constantly check back with you to ask if all is okay. They are quick to refill your beverage. The beverage prices are pretty standard for Zürich. All current COVID procedures are in place. The restrooms are spotless, there is free Wi-Fi, and a jovial atmosphere.

What a great little place! The service was incredibly friendly and the prices of drinks reasonable enough given that this is expensive Zurich. It is the cozy atmosphere that was the glory of the establishment.

The bar is very nice and warming. Brings people together, song are great! Even though on Monday dec. 30th. we had a bad experience with a waiter that was very rude and probably was having some other trouble, we had a good time. The time we went there, there was this horrible waiter, rude, and there was Dennis. Ahh, Dennis, wish all the best for this amazing guy. The best waiter I’ve ever seen. Kind, gentle, polite. He knows how to make people fell at home at the place. Definitely a place I’ll go again next time. Please, don’t miss cranberry, it is amazing!

The atmosphere and the cocktails were very good, and the fish are excellent. The staff is always very friendly. A special tip: come before 7:00 PM.

Although we only stopped here for two drinks, on a very quiet Sunday night, the bar was still fairly busy. The gentleman at the bar was very friendly and automatically set up a tab for us without us having to ask. The bar was clean and had plenty of seating options available ranging from bar stools and banquettes. They also had pots of salty snacks on the table, which was a nice touch but they're very moreish! The music options they were playing were by pop icons, a mix of newer and older songs. In terms of prices, we thought the prices were reasonable for Switzerland and I can imagine it’d be lovely sitting outside in the summer months. Overall, a cute, safe LGBTQIA+ bar in the heart of Zurich and would definitely visit again.

A nice little bar for delicious drinks, outside is the best with the freshness of the air, the pleasant and moderate music, everything flowed wonderfully

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience, the service is bad and there was a group of rather noisy and poorly educated customers. As soon as we had a drink, we went to another bar

It’s nice to be well received, with a smile... to stop there if you go through Zürich... and a very correct addition in the end

EN: Antisocial behavior of young "straight" men on April 13, 2024. The bar tolerates homophobia just to sell a few drinks! Last night there was a group of men in their early 20s in there who had dressed up as "gay" with pink "Miami Vice jackets", "white pants" and other cheap stereotypes that made it look like they were playing a "daring game" called "gay bar". They stood right in front of the lower bar, mimicked people, insulted them with homophobic slurs of the lowest level and imitated flirtatious behavior with the customers. The bar staff tolerated this behavior endlessly and even after customers complained nothing happened, which is why some people left the bar. This place urgently needs security because it is unacceptable that some immature people take out their sexual insecurity on peace-loving people in the middle of an LGBT bar in the middle of Zurich. The young men are a disgrace for Switzerland and deserve to be reported by the bar and not given any drinks. EN: Antisocial behavior of young "straight" men on April 13, 2024. They stood directly in front of the lower bar, mimicked the people, insulted them homophobically in the most despicable way and imitated flirting behavior with random customers. The young men are a disgrace to Switzerland, deserved a police report from the bar instead of drinks.

Nice trendy bar. Good drinks. Current music. Unfriendly server and indifferent to non-residents like us. Damage.
