We stayed in the tower suites room. The showers were extraordinary for the 3 modes-you can turn them all on at once! The room itself was spacious, and there was free water with fruit. I consumed their complimentary apples, banana, orange, peach, and grapes. Their restrooms had bidets and heated toilet seats. It is pretty close to the Zurich train station if you want to catch a train after check out or arrive to relax after coming to Zurich. The light switches were a little confusing, as we couldn’t figure out how to turn off the light above the bed. The switches can toggle the lights outside the bedroom (such as in the living room). The breakfast was a little limited, but it is normal. Overall, our stay was nice.
The hotel has an excellent location and updated rooms, but our stay fell short of expectations. The air conditioning was ineffective, seeming to pull in outside air rather than provide adequate cooling. While the sleeping area appeared renovated, the bathroom felt dated and in need of updating. The pull-out sofa bed was uncomfortable due to its thin mattress and squeaked with minor movement. The front desk experience was also disappointing, as the staff member we encountered seemed unfriendly. On a positive note, the breakfast team was consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, making their service a highlight of our stay. The property is described as a boutique hotel, though it did not align with what many travelers in the United States might typically expect from a boutique experience. While definitions can vary by country and market, the overall atmosphere, amenities, and service felt more like a standard hotel than a distinctive boutique property. Laundry service was significantly more expensive than expected, and no pricing was listed in advance, resulting in an unpleasant surprise bill. Guests may want to explore nearby alternatives. Overall, while the location and breakfast service were strong points, issues with the air conditioning, bathroom, sofa bed, front desk service, and laundry costs reduced the hotel’s overall value.
I was disappointed by the Wellington Hotel’s description as a “boutique hotel,” as it lacked the distinctive design, personalized service, and unique atmosphere I typically expect from a boutique property. The hotel also advertised air conditioning, but it was only a portable unit with a hose to the window that provided limited cooling and made clicking and popping noises throughout the night. Overall, I found the boutique branding misleading and felt the accommodations did not meet the expectations set by the hotel’s description. The service at the front desk was disappointing. The young blonde headed woman working at reception came across as unfriendly and lacked the level of hospitality and professionalism I would expect. Rather than feeling welcomed as a guest, several interactions felt abrupt and dismissive, which negatively affected the overall experience.
Stayed in Zürich for 2 nights. We booked the Owner Suite. The room's beautifully designed, and very elegant. The breakfast was quite basic; did not offer many selections.
I reserved a room at this property because of its central location. This proved to be very convenient to restaurants and such however I didn't anticipate the amount of noise at night and without AC it requires windows open to get cool and so it was a challenge. We had a room with a King Bed and a desk area and it was adequate but not real spacious. The bathroom is a little small as well. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and kind and the breakfast was quite good and extensive. The hotel is showing some age and needs to have a refresh on paint and fixing of alot of dings and such on walls/corners/doors. I would do some further research before staying here again. I would rate it 3.5 stars if possible, but not reaching a 4 stars.
Brilliant hotel. Arrived around 09:30 am and dropped our bags off for the day, bbmy the time we returned our room was ready and bags already in the room. Breakfast every day has selection of cold meats, cheeses and some cooked food plus pastries. About a 10 minute walk to the main station so great access to everywhere and we couldn't hear any outside noise in the evenings. Will definitely stay again when we return.
