Lovely welcoming place to stay if you’re a newcomer in Istanbul. The staff are incredibly friendly and made us feel safe and welcome. The rooms are neat (my partner and I shared a double bed in a private room) and cover exactly what you pay for. We would definitely come again

We choose this hostel after seeing the good reviews on Hostel world as it was one of the best review but were instantly dissapointed! We were told it was cash only when we arrived so had to get money out then was told they had no change and would give us it later. Got change late that evening in a mix of euro and lira as they diddnt have it in either currency still. When we were shown our door my bed was still dirty. Asked them to change the sheets and they were skeptical, diddnt believe me and said theyd try. When we got back the other beds in the dorm had been changed but not mine. On top of this the shower was mouldy, there was water stains on the ceiling, the ceiling above the bunk was crumbling away and the whole dorm looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The lock on my locker instantly fell off when I tried to open it and the room had a stale moist smell. We said we where leaving that day and not staying but we diddnt want money back and were met with a lot of hostility and left feeling very uncomfortable and slightly unsafe. They then cancled my booking on hostel world that eveing so I couldn't review it. Also very dodgy looking staircases to get to dorms! Cracked all the way though! Needless to say we booked a hotel and moved there
