Hotel Gintama

Although it might be named after a Japanese parody manga, it's actually a surprisingly quaint hotel. Considering the location, service, and room type, 20 euros a night is definitely not expensive. The hotel's front desk staff speaks fluent English and are very helpful in communicating with foreign guests. The staff absolutely deserves five stars; thank you to everyone at the front desk for your help and support while my wallet was missing.

The hotel is simply amazing, the service is top notch. The atmosphere is light and cozy, you don't want to leave.

The perfect place to relax! Everything is thought out to the smallest detail, the care for the guests was pleasantly surprised.

Nice, small hotel in the heart of Kiev. Clean, very friendly staff. There is a shelter, although the rooms themselves are somewhat like a shelter, because the basement floor. Great location, almost on the territory of Volodymyrska gorka park

An excellent hotel with a vintage feel. Free indoor parking is available. The room is cool. A 0.5 bottle of water, slippers, a hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, and soap are provided. At my request, they provided boiling water for my thermos. The receptionist, Anya, was very polite. There's a terrace with a table and chairs in front of the hotel entrance. The hotel is in an excellent location: close to Sophia Square, Vladimir Hill, and Independence Square.

A normal hotel for its price, the downsides are poor soundproofing, the TV for some reason didn't want to catch the connection, and the bed creaks, the air conditioner didn't want to work but they quickly fixed it for us, the area around this place is very atmospheric and cozy)

A typical budget hotel. Good location, enclosed courtyard. However, the hotel doors are locked at night, even though the hotel grounds are already closed, which poses a safety risk, especially at this time. According to the Fire Safety Regulations for Ukraine (DSNS, Order No. 141 dated December 30, 2014): • Clause 2.6: Emergency exit doors must not be locked with locks that cannot be opened without a key from the inside. • Clause 3.3: Hotels and hostels must have accessible evacuation routes available 24/7. According to DBN B.2.2-20:2008 "Buildings and Fire Protection. Hotels": • Hotels are required to ensure 24/7 access to an exit for guests. • There must be at least one duty officer or security guard to ensure the doors are opened in the event of an emergency. In the event of death or injury due to failure to evacuate, responsible persons may be subject to criminal liability: • Article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – "Violation of fire safety requirements established by law." Martial law and curfew do NOT exempt hotels from their fire and general safety obligations. On the contrary, they require them to strengthen security measures rather than blocking doors and leaving people unable to evacuate.

Basement, small rooms, hotel level, sorry. After what we saw, we absolutely had no desire to stay in this place, we weren't in the room even for 5 minutes, after they showed it to us, the administrator refused to refund the money. We do not recommend this place

Perfect location, central but quiet. The rooms are simple, but everything is there, and the price is good. The lobby is cozy. Very nice employees, super attentive!

I highly recommend this hotel. Convenient location, close to Khreshchatyk and Independence Square. Clean rooms. Very friendly staff, any question will not be ignored. Thank you for the excellent service. We will definitely stay with you again)

The room is small, but comfortable and clean. The only drawback is that it is cold in the room, which is something that guests should be warned about in advance. However, the administrator quickly solved the problem by offering an extra blanket, which significantly improved the situation.

Great service, nice hotel with rooms kind of under the ground, especially for safety this location makes you feel a bit better with air raid on. You are in the heart of the city at very walkable distance, good breakfast served for 300-400 UAH and LAUNDRY with Tumble DRYING for 200 UAH per session. Customer service is very good, English is spoken and also Italian! Thanks to a manager at reception who’s very helpful, knowledgeable and good looking. I recommend!

Very "tired" renovation, furniture, fittings, mattresses need updating.
