I stayed here in 2018. An elderly Ukrainian lady was in charge of the hostel. She was very kind and even bought me a coffee :) The location is excellent.

We drove from Kharkiv to Kyiv, and it took 1 hour and 40 minutes. They called and said, "Sorry, we don't accommodate single-occupancy rooms in the city center because a pipe burst." They offered us somewhere in the 5th spot in the city, and even said we'd have to pay extra. Thanks for the service, no problem. . P.S. A girl called from a different number, and it turns out there's NO burst pipe. A large group of people is already checking in, so there's no room. - IF YOU DON'T HAVE DOUBLE ROOMS, CROSS THEM OUT.

I chose it based on reviews (the vast majority were good, there are many of them). The photos were also quite good. But when you arrive, there are many nuances. We were met (2 guys + 2 girls) with the words "oh, we thought you were 4 guys". This is despite the fact that a girl made the reservation. Below you will understand why he said this. - Did you want to sleep on springs instead of a mattress? I invite you to UNEED CLOUD 9. - Maybe you wanted to feel the atmosphere of unsanitary conditions when the entire ceiling in the bathroom is covered in mold, the bathtub is not washed, the walls are covered in black mold, the curtain has never been washed? I invite you to UNEED CLOUD 9. - Oh, and maybe you also wanted ONE outlet by the bed (when the person below you has FIVE of them), and in which nothing is held and falls out? I invite you to UNEED CLOUD 9. - Did you want to pay 50 UAH to wash yourself for more than 10 minutes? UNEED CLOUD 9. And the icing on the cake. We arrive at 11:00 PM, and the administrator tells the girls: "Listen, of course there was 200 on the booking, but we put you in a women's room, and the cost is 240. So please pay. Or move to a common (=men's) room. The fact that women here are unworthy of paying the same price as men in 2023 is just nonsense. I emphasize that there is no separate men's room here. Only the "common" and "women's" are 20% more expensive. Surcharge for the opportunity to sleep safely?) No comments. And they didn't even say this right away, but at night, when the chances of finding something else are almost zero. And there's also a chance that you'll be given a towel and bed linen, albeit washed, but with stains. That's quality control. Also, they take a photo of your passports when you check in. Honestly, for a lower price I I've stayed in much better hostels. And I can't recommend this one at all unless you're used to such terrible treatment.
