Decent cheap hotel for a nights stay in Ipswich. I was reasonably happy with the standard travelodge room and cleanliness etc but unfortunately I did find a lot of black hairs and small blood stain on the "clean" bedsheets. I don't usually find this sort of problem with travelodge so I'm still rather disappointed by it and how unhygienic it is Other than that, the hotel had a pleasant smell of apple and cinnamon and the young lady on the counter was very helpful. One thing to note, is that this travelodge uses room cards with magnetic strips, so you need to keep them away from your phone and your wallet (bank cards) as it will end up locking you out of the doorway to the rooms and the room itself. Luckily I believe the hotel reception is manned most of the day if not all day so you should be fine. The rooms also have a kettle with long life milk and bits like tea and coffee which i think is always a nice touch. In regards to Ipswich, this travelodge is just about a street away from the marina, which is nice to walk down, and it's about 20 minutes to walk into the city center (though if you want to go closer, there is another travelodge nearer to the center). You can unfortunately hear quite a bit of road noise but when you're asleep you can't hear it really so not too bad. I will make a complaint about the bedsheets but just make sure you check them over as I certainly wouldn't have slept in the bed had I seen the state of the sheets beforehand 👍
A good location adjacent to the marina, you can pay for the car park at the Travel lodge in advance though there is a large car park opposite. Lots of restaurants, bars and pubs nearby and an easy walk into the town centre. Free wi fi only for 30 minutes, tea and coffee in room. Nice cafe and bar with very reasonable drinks prices. Staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite small and it had been a hot day so the rooms facing the Marina and the sun were hot. There’s no air con but a fan was provided however the street outside can be quite noisy on a night so opening the window lets in the noise. An enjoyable stay and reasonably priced.
Standard chain hotel, nothing massively wrong but nothing to ride home about! Two niggles; no AC / temperature control 🥵 and when someone is sat on the toilet you risk hitting them when the door.
The guy at reception jonny was quite a chill dude tbh . Helped out whenever I needed help . However the rooms at this hotel were filthy . Seems like poop stains on carpet . Breakfast was terrible aside from the store bought croissants . I now have puss filled spots on my face becuase I used the towels that were provided and slept on that bedding . Room has a very musty feeling that almost immediately will make u smack open the window . And no AC in the hottest day of they year but was given a broken fan that made loud noises while night .
Room was wayy to hot, even though windows was open and been given a fan. Carpet had stains on it. Comfty bed,tv had no music or radio channels on it.
We loved staying in this branch as we got a room that was just opposite to Ipswich waterfront. We were able to enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the room. The beds were so comfy to sleep and bathroom was clean.
