Great hotel
Good location and comfortable and well serviced room. Really considerate when we arrived late just as breakfast ended due to our error. Thank you to all the staff.
Room was big, had big comfy bed, air con, on ground floor in annex behind gym area, so away from any noise. As on sat night was a 60th birthday. So no noise disturbance at all. Staff cover seemed quite low as one person flitting between bar and other areas of hotel. Breakfast was cooked every morn and kept underneath heat lamps, sadly it made the bacon like rubber, eggs were great aslong as just fresh done, otherwise they wernt runny, most mornings was help yourself, and only one morn was ordered by table. Evening meal ordered and took quite a long time to come out, but was ok. Didnt eat in again after 1st night, we ate elsewhere. Sunday night no food after 7pm I think, other people ie business workers staying ordered takeaway food in . Very quiet and peaceful garden. Garden furniture needs replacing. Initial impressions are the hotel could do with a landscape gardener to bring garden back to its former glory. If you see one of pics on wall it shows how it used to be with canopies in garden. So much potential not being utilised. Guessing as lack of staff doesnt help. Sadly one night sat in bar area, was quite a few business workmen staying over and seemed to be oblivious that other guests were in, they had their phones on loud, talking to whoever and just seemed to think that this was fine for everyone else to hear and put up with and swearing between them in conversation like it was normal practice in a hotel.
Dated hotel in need of refurbishment. Rooms clean but very old and dated, even basics like the shower was not usable. Lots of residents, hanging around different entrances smoking and drinking in nightwear. Felt more like a temporary shelter than a hotel. The staff were all polite and helpful.
Good location with plenty of parking, good selection for breakfast both hot and cold. Room looking tired bath room needs new worktop and towel rail
