Beautiful independent hotel in the London metropolitan area.
Great staff, nice Roms, great Location
Overpriced. Disappointing. Unbearably hot during the heatwave. We didn't sleep at all. The fans simply move hot air around the room. Our room (273) was hotter than the corridors and everywhere else. At 11pm the room was stifling and there was no way we could sleep. The photos of the hotel and the price suggest a classic English country hotel experience but that is not what is inside. The rooms need serious updating - 1980s wallpaper, poor quality furnishings, grotty carpets, thin unlined 1970s curtains, a plastic fan mounted on the wall, and the corridors are the same. A Travelodge experience and this is not what we paid for. Breakfast was 1970s work canteen style - It was a £90 experience which cost us £208. Sorry to report this
No aircon. Curtains that let all the light in. Terrible, overly firm mattress. Single glazing that lets all the sound in so that we were not only woken by the sun pouring in through non-existent curtains, but by the magpies too. Unbelievably budget pillows. Decor that hasn’t been changed since the 1970s. Quite frankly the worst hotel room I think I’ve stayed in. This place is no longer fit for purpose. No acknowledgment of my complaint email.
