Holiday Inn Reading

Another stop at my favourite Holiday Inn. Such a great location and always a joy to see familiar faces and be remembered. This time a special should out to Sage who despite working hard behind the bar went out of her way to ensure I had all I needed and provided great conversation between customers. It always makes it nicer when working away from home to be greeted by kind professional people! Hotel is always clean and rooms comfortable.

Nice hotel, stayed 2 weeks due to work, its really cozy and comfy really enjoyed the stay staff we're great especially sage who couldn't do enough to assist. Rooms were always clean. Shops up the road we're very convenient.

We stayed here for one night. On arrival, our booking couldn’t be found straight away, but staff asked us to wait a few minutes and were very helpful while they sorted it out. There’s a comfortable seating area, so the wait was no issue. Once found, we were directed to our room with everything clearly explained. The first room was fairly standard. Clean, but nothing special. There was a bath rather than a shower, which we weren’t keen on, but it wasn’t a big issue. Unfortunately, we did find ants in the bathroom. We reported it and staff handled it immediately , we were given a new room straight away and also offered two complimentary drinks, which was appreciated. The second room was slightly more modern with a shower. The only small issue was in the bathroom layout , there is a door stop positioned right next to the shower door, in a spot where you naturally step in and out. Because of this, it can be a bit of a trip hazard if you’re not paying attention and could potentially cause an accident. Otherwise the room was clean. Beds were okay, sofa bed was fine, but not the most comfortable overall. No fridge in the room, but there was a kettle, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Extra cups were provided quickly when requested. We ate at the hotel restaurant in the evening and this was definitely the highlight of our stay. The food was truly amazing ! We really enjoyed the quality, and everything was so well prepared, fresh and delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and even our picky kids were very happy. Service was very polite and attentive throughout. The hotel also has a gym, which is quite small and only really suitable for a basic workout. It has the essentials, but if more people are using it at the same time it would get very crowded. Location is very convenient with Lidl directly opposite, plus lots of shops, fruit markets, Tesco Express and other stores nearby. There are also plenty of places open late, even on Sundays, which made things really easy and convenient during our stay. Breakfast was included and very good. Full buffet with cooked options, pancakes made on request, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, and drinks. Plenty of seating available so no rush or queues. Check-in from 2pm and check-out from 12pm was a big plus, especially when travelling with children. Overall, a very good stay. The restaurant really stood out! The staff throughout the hotel were polite, helpful and professional, and really added to the whole experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel !

Perfect, efficient and affordable stay for our Legoland trip. Room was clean, plenty of towels and comfy bed. Huge TV with kids channels. Fridge. Shower was hot and powerful. We ate in the restaurant on the evening and the kids ate for free. The food was tasty after a hard day in the sun. The kids ate every mouth and so did we. A nice refreshing cider and beer to match. The breakfast was fantastic. If you couldn't find anything to eat you must not like food. Fresh juice, cooked breakfast, fruit yoghurt coffee.. even a ginger shot to get us going. The kids were given colouring sheets for the wall and sweets and kit kats by the team and we're laughing and smiling all round. Tables were cleaned and cleared promptly. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is loads of parking, we arrived late 7pm and found spaces at the front. There is even a handy Lidl over the road and aldi/Popeye's/burger king close if you didn't want to eat onsite. The Aircon was also a blessing. Plenty of plug sockets too. Would stay again!!!

What a fantastic find! We booked as part of a Legoland deal and had a great stay. The staff were efficient, helpful and Suleyman was so good with the children. He made their holiday! We plan to return.

I had a great experience, due to work I arrived very late at night, reception staff Thomas was extremely kind and helpful and made checking in and the stay very pleasant! Thank you very much Thomas for all your help!

I’ve been using Holiday Inn Reading South for nearly 5 years, and it remains one of my favourite hotels in the area. The location is fantastic — very close to the city centre, with easy access to the motorway and Heathrow Airport. The beds are firm and supportive, which is absolutely fantastic for my weak back. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. And the shower… honestly one of the best parts of the stay — I absolutely admire the shower pressure and cleanliness. The gym is also just right for a light workout while travelling. A special thank you to the wonderful staff, especially Khadija and Amna, who always go the extra mile. They were incredibly kind and helpful to my pregnant wife, always assisting with a big smile and genuine care. That level of hospitality makes a huge difference. The car park is ample and convenient, and the surrounding facilities are excellent. Within less than 5 minutes’ walk you have Lidl, Nando’s, Burger King, Costa Coffee, Aldi, plus a petrol station and many other useful shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel for any light traveller, business visitor, or family stay. Consistent service, great staff, excellent location, and a very comfortable experience every time.

The hotel is very beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for relaxing. The service and staff are excellent. Süleyman Bey's smiling face and warm welcome in the morning were especially nice. He took great care of us at breakfast.
