Melbourne Queer Film Festival
O tym wydarzeniu
MQFF rozpoczął się w lutym 1991 roku jako część Midsumma, w 1992 roku stał się samodzielnym festiwalem i przeniósł się na marzec, a obecnie odbywa się w listopadzie. Jego siedzibą jest Victorian Pride Centre w St Kilda.
Wszystkie sesje są biletowane. W 2025 roku centrum festiwalowe znajdowało się w Cinema Nova w Carlton, z głównymi wydarzeniami w Collins Place, Melbourne Town Hall i Capitol. Pakiety filmów krótkometrażowych i niektóre pełnometrażowe filmy były również dostępne online na MQFF+ przez dodatkowy tydzień. Pełny program jest publikowany około miesiąca wcześniej.
35. edycja festiwalu odbyła się w dniach 13-23 listopada 2025 roku i rozpoczęła się od queerowej komedii o zombie "Queens of the Dead". Gwiazda serialu "Pose", Dominique Jackson, otrzymała pierwszą w historii festiwalu nagrodę Tribute Award. MQFF oficjalnie ogłosił 36. edycję festiwalu, która odbędzie się od 13 listopada (wieczór otwarcia) do 22 listopada 2026 roku. Nie udało nam się znaleźć opublikowanych danych dotyczących liczby uczestników.
