El Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) es el festival de cine queer con más recorrido de Australia, celebrado cada marzo en ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) en Federation Square y otras salas de Melbourne. Fundado en 1991, el MQFF presenta un programa cuidado de cine LGBTQ+ australiano e internacional con largometrajes, cortos, documentales y eventos especiales. Su sede en ACMI —la institución de Melbourne dedicada a la cultura audiovisual, en el corazón del CBD— refleja el respeto del que goza tanto en la comunidad LGBTQ+ como en el sector cultural en general. El MQFF reúne a un público de unas 15.000-20.000 personas a lo largo del programa y ha sido durante más de tres décadas una plataforma para cineastas LGBTQ+ australianos e internacionales.
