Il Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) è il più longevo festival queer dell'Australia, in programma ogni marzo all'ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) in Federation Square e in altre sedi di Melbourne. Fondato nel 1991, presenta un programma curato di cinema LGBTQ+ australiano e internazionale tra lungometraggi, corti, documentari ed eventi speciali. La collocazione all'ACMI — l'istituzione di cultura cinematografica di Melbourne nel cuore del CBD — riflette il rispetto di cui gode dalla comunità LGBTQ+ e dal più ampio settore culturale. MQFF richiama un pubblico di circa 15.000-20.000 persone ed è da oltre trent'anni una piattaforma per cineasti LGBTQ+ australiani e internazionali.
