Melbourne Queer Film Festival

MQFF è nato nel febbraio 1991 come parte di Midsumma, è diventato un festival autonomo nel 1992 spostandosi a marzo, e ora si svolge a novembre. La sede principale è il Victorian Pride Centre a St Kilda.
Tutte le proiezioni sono a pagamento. Nel 2025 il fulcro è stato il Cinema Nova a Carlton, con grandi eventi a Collins Place, Melbourne Town Hall e al Capitol. Pacchetti di cortometraggi e alcuni lungometraggi sono stati anche trasmessi a livello nazionale su MQFF+ per una settimana aggiuntiva. Il programma completo viene pubblicato circa un mese prima.
La 35ª edizione si è svolta dal 13 al 23 novembre 2025 e si è aperta con la commedia zombie queer Queens of the Dead. La star di Pose, Dominique Jackson, ha ricevuto il primo Tribute Award del festival. MQFF ha ufficialmente annunciato la 36ª edizione dal 13 novembre (serata di apertura) al 22 novembre 2026. Non siamo riusciti a trovare dati ufficiali sul numero di partecipanti.
