Festival du Film Queer de Melbourne
À propos de cet événement
Le MQFF a débuté en février 1991 dans le cadre de Midsumma, est devenu un festival indépendant en 1992 et s'est déplacé en mars, pour finalement se tenir en novembre. Il est basé au Victorian Pride Centre à St Kilda.
Toutes les séances sont payantes. En 2025, le centre névralgique était le Cinema Nova à Carlton, avec des événements majeurs à Collins Place, Melbourne Town Hall et le Capitol. Des programmes courts et certains longs métrages ont également été diffusés en streaming dans tout le pays sur MQFF+ pendant une semaine supplémentaire. Le programme complet est publié environ un mois à l'avance.
La 35ème édition s'est déroulée du 13 au 23 novembre 2025 et s'est ouverte avec la comédie horrifique queer *Queens of the Dead*. La star de *Pose*, Dominique Jackson, a reçu le premier Tribute Award du festival. Le MQFF a officiellement annoncé la 36ème édition du 13 novembre (soir d'ouverture) au 22 novembre 2026. Nous n'avons pas trouvé de chiffres de fréquentation publiés.
