Musical Amor em Pedaços brings stories of affection and new beginnings to Espaço Cultural Renato Russo
About the event
After a successful premiere at SESC Gama, the play will have two sessions this Sunday; the project will also offer free tickets to women served by CEPAVs, EJA students, and people with disabilities.
Between recipes, friendships, and discoveries, some stories gain new meanings when shared. It is in this spirit that the musical “Amor em Pedaços” arrives at Espaço Cultural Renato Russo for two performances this Sunday (08/30). Freely inspired by the renowned Broadway musical Waitress, the show has already been performed at SESC Gama and features an unprecedented adaptation focused on the Brazilian context.
Produced with resources from the Federal District Culture Support Fund, “Amor em Pedaços” was first adapted in 2024. In this edition, the production features a new cast and a soundtrack translated by the award-winning adapter Rafael Oliveira, preserving the essence of the original work but with the humor and sensitivity of the Brazilian context. For producer Victor Meira, the play seeks to create an intimate atmosphere, where the classic American diner gives way to a welcoming environment, using the kitchen as an affective space for memories and discoveries.
In the plot of “Amor em Pedaços,” the atmosphere of a small café and the world of the kitchen serve as a backdrop for encounters, memories, and conflicts that span the lives of different audiences.
