AMOR Festival Santiago

AMOR, Chile's international LGBT+ film festival, has been running since 2016. It's independent and competitive, and it claims to be the first international festival in Santiago focused on sexual and gender diversity. Early on, it took place in June, around Pride month. The 2018 edition, for example, screened in Santiago and Valparaíso from 12 to 17 June, while the 2019 edition added Antofagasta to the mix.

In recent years, the festival has gone hybrid, with online screenings alongside in-person sessions in several cities. You can find them at Parque Bustamante in Providencia, Santiago - that's their listed address. If you're a filmmaker, you can submit your work through Festhome. For the 2026 edition, the call for submissions closed on 28 June, and selected films were notified on 14 September.

The last edition we could confirm dates for was the seventh, which ran from 27 June to 2 July 2023. We couldn't find any info on the eighth edition. The ninth edition, though, is set for 24 to 29 November 2026, and it'll be hybrid again - this time in late spring, rather than the Chilean winter. Check amorfestival.com for venues and the program once they're published.
