Medellín Vibes

A very disappointing experience. The photos don't match reality! Our stay was quite disappointing, especially considering that the photos on Booking.com don't reflect the actual condition of the hotel at all. The room had a very strong musty smell. The shower only had a glass panel that covered about half the space, and there was no door or screen to completely close it off. As a result, water leaked easily, and every time we showered, the bathroom ended up completely flooded and didn't dry properly. The bathroom door was swollen from the dampness, and the floor also showed obvious signs of deterioration. I have allergies to damp and dust, so this situation affected me particularly, and I had a very unpleasant stay. The humidity was so intense that it was noticeable even on the clothes, the beds, the suitcases, and there were signs of dampness on the walls themselves, which had already been reported by other guests in Google reviews in previous years and have not been fixed. The overall impression is that the hotel opened years ago and has received little to no maintenance since. The pool bar area was apparently under construction, but during our stay we never saw anyone working there; there was only a net and some rubble. The pool was also not in good condition. Although we saw a worker cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner in the mornings, the water didn't seem to be filtering properly, and residue, such as sunscreen, was clearly visible floating on the surface. Another rather disappointing aspect was the towels. During our stay, we were given very worn, frayed, and some even torn towels. Their condition was unacceptable for an establishment that receives guests. Breakfast was of very poor quality, especially compared to the other hotels where we stayed during our two-week trip. We also missed having more friendliness and attention from the staff. Another issue to highlight was that we only had hot water one day; the rest of the time, the water pressure was very low and lukewarm. The shower head was also heavily clogged with limescale, covering half of the water outlet holes. Furthermore, we felt the price was excessive for the service and conditions offered by the hotel. We chose it precisely because it had a very good rating, and we thought it would be a safe bet, but frankly, after our experience, we don't understand where that rating came from. In short, we wouldn't return and we wouldn't recommend it. The condition of the facilities, the humidity, the cleanliness, the maintenance, and the service were far below what we expected and, above all, below what the Booking.com photos conveyed. For the price we paid, we expected much more.

A nice place

The hostel has a nice pool, but the single room I was given the first night had no ventilation and smelled musty. I don't recommend the shared rooms; some people snore. lol..... The person at reception at night, I think his name is Daniel, was quite unprofessional. In my experience, he made unsolicited suggestions and didn't respect the guest-hostel relationship. "You should always be professional." I left the hostel after the second night, even though I had paid for four. I don't think I'll ever go back. But everyone has different experiences. Thanks.
