About This Event

The Medellín Pride March — Marcha de la Ciudadanía LGBT — happens every June, pulling around 300,000 people onto the streets of Colombia's second-biggest city. This isn't just a march; it's a backdrop to one of the most surprising urban makeovers anywhere. This city, once the global center for cartel violence in the early 90s, is now a blueprint for urban renewal. It's home to a lively, politically active LGBTQ+ community.

Medellín Pride shows off that change. It's a party for what the city has become, and just as much a political statement about the fights for LGBTQ+ rights still going on.

El Poblado is the social nerve center during Pride week. Envy, Black, and the bars along Calle 9 all have special events planned. Groups like Caribe Afirmativo use the week for advocacy and community outreach.

If you're visiting from out of town, Medellín Pride in June means the march, sure, but also the city's famous weather, a day trip to Guatapé, and El Poblado's expat-heavy scene.
