Room was very comfortable with full kitchen and laundry. Service was very nice and helpful. Hotel even has a small gym. Very comfortable. Also used the shuttle service to get us to the ferry terminal.
This hotel is nice, it’s homely and in a good location. We did have an issue with the first room, the heater was stuck on, so we were moved. The rooms are old but clean and spacious. The people in reception were welcoming and pleasant. You are not too far from town. I’d stay here again.
Have stayed here several times. Super friendly staff, the rooms are spacious and overall a great place to stay.
Stayed here for a month while relocating to Juneau till we found a rental. Staff was always friendly and helpful! The suite we had was very homey feeling! The only down side about our stay and its no fault to the hotel, in the winter time there are plow trucks plowing the parking lot across from the hotel at 3am.
If you are looking for a comfortable home base in Juneau without diving into the deep end of the city’s hotel price pool, the Juneau Hotel is a respectable contender. Location wise, it sits about a mile from downtown. The walk along the water is genuinely pleasant, especially on a clear Southeast Alaska day. Just note the hotel is positioned right by the main intersection for the Douglas Island bridge. If your room faces the bridge, traffic noise is part of the ambient soundtrack, so light sleepers may want to request a different orientation. The rooms are where this property really delivers. They are spacious, clean, and outfitted with large full kitchens, which is a major plus for longer stays or anyone tired of restaurant hopping every meal. If you can snag a third-floor room, the higher ceilings add a nice sense of breathing room. Operationally, a few things to keep in mind: -Free airport shuttle is available but must be arranged in advance with the front desk -Off street parking is very limited, so rental car guests should plan accordingly -Gym is minimal and functional at best -Ice machine and vending are located on the first floor -No on-site food or beverage services, though restaurants and bars are within walking distance Service was a bright spot. Staff were consistently friendly, efficient, and easy to work with, which always elevates the stay. Value wise, Juneau pricing is its own wild frontier. While the nightly rate may still feel steep for the overall product, it is actually on the more budget friendly side for the market. In a city where the gap between price and polish can be wide, the Juneau Hotel lands comfortably in the “better than most” category. Bottom line: Not a luxury showpiece, but a clean, spacious, well-run option that works especially well for longer stays or travelers who appreciate having a full kitchen and a little extra elbow room.
