About this place Liberty Hotel

Liberty Hotel, a newly renovated landmark, sits at the foot of Beacon Hill on Charles Street. You're steps from shops, restaurants, and sights like Boston Common.

The ornate architecture hints at the building's past. It's an elegant spot to stay in Boston, and it's LGBTQ+-friendly.

Its central location means you can walk to most things. It's easy to get around Beacon Hill and downtown without needing a car or a long walk.

All of the staff here are not mentally or emotionally equipped to handle any sort of customer problems. Very rude and nonchalant front desk. Rooms are dated and run down. I would not consider this a true luxury collection facility.

We are so happy with our stay at The Liberty. My Mom's visit to the ER brought our family to Mass General and we couldn't have found a better place to stay. The Liberty is practically next door to the hospital, the rooms are well appointed, and they treated my Dad like royalty, putting him at ease with all the caregiver stress he's gone through these past several weeks and making our stay as flexible as possible. A big thank you to Casey and Sunny for taking care of us. Having stayed at countless Marriott hotels over the last decades, you guys set the standard for compassion and service in hospitality!

My booking was from 10–12 June 2026, and even though I haven’t checked out yet, my first‑day experience at The Liberty Hotel has been great. We arrived super early at around 6am on 10 June, and the staff were really nice—they let us check in early, which was amazing. Didn’t get a high floor, but the early check‑in already made me happy. The minibar has lots of liquor choices and Fiji water (charged). There’s a water dispenser in the lobby and free coffee and tea in the morning. The location is perfect—right next to Charles/MGH on the Red Line—super convenient for getting around Boston.

What type of "luxury" hotel has a club in the middle of the lobby till 1 am ? Hammered, drugged out people with access to the elevator sounded like a good idea ? Don't know when Marriot decided to go trashy but I will not be staying at another. Edit: they now keep charging me for random things that we did not take from the mini-bar!!!!! Do not stay here.
