This Crowne Plaza, at 160 East Huron Street in downtown Chicago, is a solid, reliable base for LGBTQ+ travelers.
You’re just steps from the Magnificent Mile here, which means easy access to some of Chicago’s better shopping, restaurants, and museums. It's a chain hotel, yes, but it feels a step up from the usual, making it a safe bet if you want comfort without surprises.
Downtown Chicago is definitely welcoming to LGBTQ+ visitors. From this spot, you can walk to plenty of places or get a quick ride to others. All those big shopping and entertainment areas are right there; you won't run out of things to do or places to eat. If you’re in town for work, fun, or to check out Chicago’s LGBTQ+ scene, staying downtown puts you where things are happening.
The hotel is dependable, like you'd expect from a big brand, but it feels a bit more polished than your average chain. If you want a well-placed home base for exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods, attractions, and LGBTQ+ spots, this downtown address works. Check their site for current room rates and any packages they might have.

Nice place to stay! Warm hearted host! Everything is perfect!
Great clean space for a good low price. Definitely worth the money.
Don’t do it, folks. This place is not worth the cheap nightly rate. The bedrooms in the apartment are dirty with scuffed and gouged walls. The bedroom I was in faces the street so there is constant, extremely loud street noise. No AC, the lock on the bedroom door is incredibly flimsy. I didn’t stay long enough to see if the shared bathroom was acceptable. Find a real hotel!
Clean, decently organized, small rooms but comfy beds, location is a bit sketchy but in five days I've never had an issue, I would recommend the proprietors install more hooks for doors, more hangers for closets
Refund only processed after chargeback – disappointing experience I booked a stay at this property via Hostelworld and paid a deposit upfront. According to the booking conditions, the remaining balance was supposed to be paid at the property upon arrival. However, the hotel charged the full amount to my credit card shortly after the booking. Due to a change of plans, I cancelled my reservation well within the free cancellation period. While the initial deposit was refunded quickly, the remaining amount was not returned. Over the course of several weeks, I contacted the property multiple times and was repeatedly told that the issue was being reviewed by their accounting department. Despite these assurances, no refund was processed. Only after initiating a chargeback through my bank was the matter ultimately resolved and the funds returned. While the refund was eventually completed, the process was unnecessarily lengthy and required significant effort on my side. Based on this experience, I would recommend exercising caution when it comes to payment and refund handling at this property.
Great experience overall. Comfortable bed, good service, and convenient location. Will come back again.
