About this place Hyatt Regency Chicago

The Hyatt Regency Chicago is a mainstream hotel that does its job, and its address on Upper Wacker Drive puts you right in the middle of downtown.

It’s a comfortable base for LGBTQ+ travelers, and the hotel itself makes a point of welcoming them, including supporting Chicago's Pride celebrations. You’re within walking distance of Grant Park and Millennium Park, Lake Michigan’s beaches, and Navy Pier. Plus, it’s just a few blocks from the shops and restaurants on Michigan Avenue. You won't have to walk far for anything.

The service and amenities are what you'd expect from a Hyatt. Nothing fancy, but everything works. It’s a practical spot for getting to blues and jazz clubs, or for jumping off into the city's celebrated food scene and its many neighborhoods.

If you need a reliable, centrally located hotel in Chicago, this one does the trick. You'll be right downtown, never far from whatever you came to the city for.

Hotel and room were great. Valet is a mess. $100 a day and it takes on average 20 minutes to get your vehicle, pretty unacceptable. Zero urgency or communication. The last time they took our ticket but forgot to go get the car. We were late to a baseball game because we had to wait so long. We also watched a non employee back up into another car that was valeted and the workers acted like nothing happened, let the non employee drive away and pretty sure they didn’t tell the owner of the other vehicle. To summarize, don’t valet, the cost is not worth the wait.

Convenient location just off Michigan Ave and Chicago River. Lots to do around. Rooms are clean and updated. Will do again

I checked into Room 3154 today, and it is far from what I would expect from a four-star hotel. The condition of the bathroom is unacceptable, the ceiling is visibly damaged and bubbling, and the overall room appears poorly maintained. I also paid an additional fee for a higher-floor room, yet my view is simply of another building, and the window itself is dirty. Additionally, I have had the air conditioning set to 68°F, but the room remains uncomfortably warm. Given the condition of the room and the lack of amenities or views that were advertised, I cannot understand how the rate charged for this room is justified. What I find most disappointing is the response to my complaint, which stated that the room “did not meet my standards.” A dirty bathroom, damaged ceiling, and poorly maintained accommodations should not meet anyone’s standards, especially at a property marketed as a four-star hotel. I genuinely feel misled by the value offered for the price paid. In fact, I have paid less for significantly better accommodations elsewhere, including fountain-view rooms at the Bellagio. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and concerned about the standards being maintained at this
