Scout, an urban antique shop on North Clark Street, is where you go in Chicago's Boystown neighborhood for something weird and wonderful.
Chicago's LGBTQ+ shopping scene has plenty of places for souvenirs, gifts, or just something for yourself. But this isn't a gift shop. This is where you find a taxidermy squirrel in a tiny smoking jacket, or a mid-century bar cart that looks like it's been to a few parties.
The whole point of antique shopping is finding something you didn't know you needed. Scout gets that. They’ve packed the place with items that feel like they have stories, not just price tags. You might be furnishing a new apartment or just looking for a conversation piece; either way, you’ll likely walk out with something unexpected.
You'll find Scout at 5221 North Clark Street. It’s an easy stop if you’re already in Boystown, and it captures the neighborhood's creative, slightly offbeat spirit. Don't rush it. Give yourself time to poke around. That's how you find the good stuff.

I visited Scout Antiques with friends recently. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there’s a diverse range of all sorts of interesting treasures. I bought a late 19thc Empire Style sofa, but unfortunately did not notice until after delivery that one of the front legs was broken and poorly repaired, which I should have been made aware of, but was not.
Great services and the owner is a wonderful designer
