About this place Polo Beach

Polo Beach is a remote, clothing-optional beach on Oʻahu's North Shore, west of Haleiwa near Mokulēʻia — about an hour's drive from Waikiki. Backed by ironwood trees and rarely crowded, it has a long-standing reputation as the island's main nudist beach and a gay-popular spot for those willing to make the trip out of town. There are no facilities and access is via a short path from the highway, so bring water and shade. For an in-town gay beach, Queen's Surf in Waikiki remains the community's main gathering place; Polo Beach is best treated as a secluded day-trip alternative.

This is Oahu‘s gay beach or clothing optional. It’s beautiful over there. It can get a little windy, but it’s a great place to just let it all hang out with all your friends and sometimes the views are pretty nice besides the location in the ocean.

More gay beach than nude beach

Such an amazing beach — honestly one of the most freeing experiences ever. It has that open, relaxed, totally liberating vibe where you can just be yourself, even if you prefer to go clothing-optional. What I really appreciated is that it didn’t feel weird or creepy at all; everyone kept to themselves, respected the space, and the atmosphere felt safe and comfortable. The beach itself is beautiful, with soft sand, gorgeous water, and even the surprise of cute horses passing by, which just adds to the charm and uniqueness of the spot. The whole place has this peaceful, natural energy that makes you want to stay for hours. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a laid-back, freeing, and genuinely good-vibe beach experience. A hidden gem!
