Tenzen Springs & Cabins

My wife and I spent (2) night for a birthday celebration. The location is extremely quiet and serine with wildlife and a great views. Cabins are well laid out and spaced correctly for maximum privacy. High recommend staying with them.

We stayed here for three nights and the entire experience was wonderful. The hot tub is enormous, with an amazing private view of an expansive meadow. The water temperature is easily adjustable and did wonders for my back and IT-band issues. The steam shower is fantastic. The sunsets are some of the prettiest we’ve seen, with the view of the river below and surrounding mountains above complementing a magical, almost sacred, presence. And the night sky is replete with stars and sightings of satellites. We took short walks to the lookout benches each night, but hardly ever saw anyone else. There are only 9 cabins so we rarely saw other guests and mostly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. And the nightlights along the paths and massive oak tree are just so enchanting. The kitchenette is tiny, but in combination with the hybrid oven we were able to make delicious meals each night. The grocery store in Stephenson isn’t bad, but I’d recommend grabbing wine and bubbles in Portland first.

Magic. Worth every penny. Plan ahead for your food. And Drink. We lived out of the grocery store deli. TBH, no complaints.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the owners of Tenzen for creating a place we can’t wait to return to again and again. My friend and I truly appreciate natural mineral water and often visit hot springs across Oregon and Washington, but Tenzen is absolutely one of a kind. Nothing else offers the same atmosphere, serenity, privacy, and thoughtful attention to detail. Each cottage has everything you could possibly need — from toothbrushes and robes to high-quality cotton bedding. The mattresses and pillows deserve special praise; such comfort is rare even in luxury resorts. The steam room is fantastic, and the true highlight is the private wooden mineral baths in every cottage — a true healing ritual for both body and mind. We first visited in the fall of 2025 during Thanksgiving and were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary gift set with wine and treats. We returned again just a month later, before New Year’s, and once again fell in love with this place. We are already planning our next trip — nothing compares to Tenzen. As a professional videographer, I couldn’t resist filming a small cinematic video to capture the beauty of this resort. There is very little I could even suggest for improvement — the quality is already exceptional. The only thing that would make Tenzen even more irresistible would be a small complimentary discount for returning guests. If such an option existed, my friend and I would gladly visit every month. This was our second stay at Tenzen and for our anniversary. We absolutely love the whole experience- stunning views, beautiful rooms that have everything you need, and the amazing geothermal water. We especially appreciate the staff’s hard work in cleaning the tubs after each guest. During both stays, we could hear sound of the train just below, so maybe bring some earplugs if you’re sensitive to the noise. But really that is all. Everything else is wonderful and still worth it!

What a special place this is! We will definitely be coming back. We booked a cabin at TenZen for a romantic birthday getaway weekend this January (2026) and it did not disappoint. It would also be a lovely, quiet wellness getaway for one. The property is located outside of the very small towns of Carson and Stevenson on the Washington side of the Gorge that have a handful of restaurants, a grocery store, and other amenities close by. It was also close to wonderful hiking opportunities (we visited Falls Creek Falls with its gorgeous waterfall about 30 minutes drive away; and Wind Mountain Trail with sweeping views of the Columbia River only 6 minutes drive away). But the property itself offered beautiful sunset views, quiet, privacy, and nature. There are currently about 9 cabins on the property (but it looks like they are expanding to 12) that optimize privacy and views of nature for each cabin. Our cabin had a queen size bed on a platform with a small kitchenette that included a small fridge, microwave (combination convection oven), hot plate, and sink. While the kitchenette is small, it is well-supplied and we cooked most of our meals in the cabin over the course of three days, so it packed a lot in a small space. The cabin had spa-like amenities: a steam shower, spa robes, slippers, flip flops, a higher-end hair dryer, tea tree oil diffuser, both indoor and outdoor showers, etc. But - by far - the selling point is the private soaking tub on their geothermal grounds. The back patio was enclosed for privacy as well as to protect from wind/rain/etc. But had an opening at the top so we could see the stars at night. It also had french doors that opened up to a back deck with chairs that you could open to have views of nature while you were soaking (while still having privacy). While it does smell of sulfur (as some have noted), that's just the nature of the natural spring. And it easy and inviting to rinse off after each soak. We did NOT have issues of smelling sulfur inside the cabin. And while some reviews complained of train noise near the property, we heard the train but it did not detract from the experience. It did not keep us up at night, and was even a bit charming. I've recommended this property to my friends. Would definitely stay again.

Second time coming here, with the last time being in January 2023. Always a nice place to go and just relax. Previously we went to a couple of different places nearby but this time we just focused on chilling at the cabin and enjoying the variety of bathing. Still an amazing place to relax and chill. Free electric charging was great for those of us driving an EV. We had the microwave cabin both times but brought an induction stove for cooking. Overall best place to just relax and get away from the business of life in the PNW

Very relaxing. The tub and showers are easy to use. Nice view of the Columbia River. Good location. Don't worry about the train sounds. They are not too bad. Overall a peaceful stay.

We didn’t leave the cabin the whole time, it was a perfect winter getaway! Every amenity was so thoughtfully planned. In response to other reviewers, we didn’t hear one train our entire two night stay, and the hot spring smell was occasionally noticeable but mild, expected and appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our little year-end reset. Something we very much needed. The cabin was exactly what we expected, if not more, and we left feeling truly refreshed. The privacy and quiet made it easy to genuinely relax and feel tucked away. The cabin was well stocked, and with the snacks and drinks we brought, everything felt effortless. We would definitely return Also, The soaking tub was a godsend after the wind mountain hike.

This was our first time visiting the property, and I must say it was definitely a relaxing experience. The mineral waters here are amazing.
