Centrella Hotel, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

We LOVE staying here. The hotel is old and historic so if you’re expediting the perfection of something brand new, you might be disappointed. If you want to step back in time and enjoy the experience, you’ll love this little treasure as much as we do. The front desk staff has always been nice and accommodating, even when we accidentally booked our room a day late!

This is an older hotel. If you are expecting a new or refurbished modem feel, you might be disappointment. We enjoy the antique feel of this historic place.

Just got back from our trip to PG and the Centrella Hotel. The hotel itself was lovely a little worn down but still charming... and the service was also very warm and inviting however the room had something left to be desired. All and all it was nice but there were some things that really needed to be changed. We stayed in room #24 which is sold as a “partial ocean view” it’s more like a speck of an ocean view. It does have some nice views of the mountains though. The room itself was spacious, more like a suite with two rooms. One smaller room with a not so comfortable fold out sofa and a desk with a refrigerator that we had to unplug because it was so loud. Our room was also pretty loud as it was at the top of the stairs and we could hear everything in the hallways as the walls are very thin. They definitely need to upgrade the fridge to a newer model. The tv was in that room and no tv was in the room with the bed unfortunately. They really need to put one in the other room as well. Also the layout of the rooms was a little funky because the bathroom is in between the two rooms so you need to go through it to access either room. The worst part of the room was the bed. The bed-frame was an old metal frame that creaked loudly when you would even roll to one side while sleeping. And the old mattress was slightly soft and springy. Overall it was a pleasant stay and perhaps there are some other rooms that are better. We paid a little over $500 for one night to stay in that room for Valentine's day which included tax. Definitely way too much for the quality of that room. Also this is not a true Bed and Breakfast as they do not serve a full breakfast...only store bought bagels and pastries. They do make a yogurt parfait that is very good but it's definitely not a full breakfast. The coffee could be a little higher quality as well and they only had artificial coffee mate creamer and no half and half and no natural cane sugar only white refined sugar. These small touches really could make the offerings a bit more elevated. I'm really not sure if I would stay there again.

Centrella Hotel is a great little hotel 🏨 👌 It's on the historic registry 😉 Very helpful and courteous staff 😀 It's located within walking 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ distance of multiple shops, restaurants and services 😀 Parking is a little tight, but they have on-site parking 🚙🚘 including handicap ♿️ spaces and a wheelchair ♿🧑‍🦽👩‍🦽 accessible ramp and doors 🚪 Continental breakfast included. So, if you're looking for a cute place for a weekend getaway, give them a try 😀 😉I highly recommend them 😀

Very short walking distance to the beach which had stunning views, and about a 20 minute scenic walk along the beach to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium (which was my primary reason for visiting the area). The room was charmingly old-fashioned while still being comfortable by modern standards, and the daily breakfast yogurt parfait was delicious! Price was reasonable, although I did come during the off-season (late December). I would absolutely recommend staying here if you're looking to visit the Monterey/Pacific Grove area.

This hotel is haunted!!! My aunt and I were staying here on our road trip and we got the 3rd floor room and we felt a weird sensation as soon as we entered. The decor does not help, it is old and a bit dirty. We asked to switch rooms and it was “better” but still felt off. We ultimately decided not to stay because we had an odd feeling and could not shake it off until about an hour later! Then we did some research and… confirmed!

Breakfast is just sad and not worth 200 usd the night. I've had better breakfasts in hostels

Quaint historic - great location and more affordable Understand it’s well booked throughout the year due to decent value (high cost area) but keep in mind that is historic - older. Hotel has a mix of rooms – a relatively small room with standard queen bed, queen room on corners, rooms on upper floor with King sized beds – understand they are larger but have a lower ceiling due to roof line. Also a few “cabins”. There is a garden area and a lounge area for public use. At arrival there ere cookies and sparkling wine. They pour wine after 5pm. We received super friendly reception at check in and at breakfast - they had cups of yogurt w fresh berries - we were there early and hear the ladies chopping and working at prior. Otherwise the usual. Overheard the front desk adjust someone’s reservation who had accidently booked the wrong week. They really were looking to help fix the situation (possible if booked direct w the hotel or if booked via third party as refundable) Front desk is not staffed overnight. 5 parking spaces plus a large area to pull in and unload in front of the hotel, and lots of neighborhood street parking. No AC or elevator – think seaside and historic. Big fan the closet for window if needed. Easy walk to shore and several great eateries.

Only a few blocks from the beach, stores and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and flexible to assist in a reservation mistake. Rates are affordable, rooms were charming, warm and inviting with old world style decor. Excellent place to stay, unwind and appreciate nature.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and it was a very lovely stay! Staff were very nice and offered a complimentary glass of wine! Highly recommend staying here, the Aquarium was also within walking distance which was very lovely!

Don't hesitate to ask the same room you see on the website. Charming house that matches the kindness of the staff. I don't know why, I always think it's the only place where I would find staff in formal clothes in this type of hotel. Maybe that time is revoked. Wonderful escape on the Cost!
